Kilder uden for Jehovas Vidner

Watch Tower Movement

Der er tre grunde til at denne tekstsamling om Watch Tower Movement er fremlagt. For det første fordi det giver en baggrundsviden for en for-ståelse af nogle af de problemstillinger der lå til grund for den vold-somme forfølgelse af Jehovas Vidner  i Malawi og Mozambique i slut-ningen af 1960'erne og begyndelsen 1970'erne. For det andet som en kilde til en forståelse af, dels hvordan Jehovas Vidner har etableret og udviklet sig i det centrale og sydlige Afrika, dels isoleret set, hvordan de som trossamfund har indpasset sig i forhold til det etablerede samfund. Endelig som det tredje, indeholder flere af teksterne gode eksempler på, hvordan deres tro og lære har udviklet sig i visse område til lokale religiøse bevægelser, inspireret af, men adskilte fra Jehovas Vidner.
    Udtrykket Watch Tower Movement er både en fællesbetegnelse for en lang række religiøse bevægelser der har sine rødder i Jehovas Vidner og et udtryk der dækker over Jehovas Vidners aktiviteter i Central- og Sydafrika i de første årtier af det 20'ende århundrede.
